Glossy lips are soft, plump, and alluring. Obtaining a gorgeous glossed lip is simple. Here’s how to get a modern glossy lip look.
Prep your lips
The first step is making sure your lips are ready, as a good lip look requires a good base. Lip Scrub can help exfoliate your lips, making them soft and fresh. Gently rub the lip scrub on your lips, if you pout while doing this it will be easier to keep it on your lips and off your face.
Dehydrated lips compliment no one. Applying a generous amount of lip balm will help moisten your lips so they are ready for product. If you prefer to keep things more natural a coconut oil will restore and bring back moisture into your lips.
Decide which product types to use
There are many different makeup looks that have glossy lips. Do you want to look natural, Are you planning on wearing lipstick, is it a bold or a soft look? To decide what makeup look you are going for, decide what vibe you want to give off. is it undeniably sexy or is it naturally gorgeous. How many products are you willing to put on? Lip liner, Lipstick, lip gloss. Are you ready to ditch the matte lipstick? Are you willing to wear a plumping lip gloss.
Bold glossy lip look
For a deep glossy look, to pair with a smokey eye or a dark sultry look there are a few ways you can do your lips that will pair nicely with your makeup.
Contrasting lip liner. This lip combo is certainly not for everyone. Originally worn by Chola latino women, this lip combo is usually a dark or deep brown liner with a nude middle. When done properly we love this look. Start by grabbing a deep brown liner, it can be whatever shade you desire whether its close to black or a medium brown. Line your lips with the liner, you can do this by tracing the outside lines of your lips. To create the illusion of fuller lips you can over line your lips, to do this you go just outside the border of your lip lines.
Be careful not to travel too far out of the lines or your left with very obvious over lined lips. After you’ve finished lining your lips you can apply a dark nude lipstick. Don’t go over the liner with your lipstick as we don’t wanted to cover it. After you’ve applied your lipstick you can blend the two shades together so they marry into one where they touch.
To blend the two you can take a small dense eyeshadow brush and brush over the two colors until they’ve blended nicely together but make sure there is still a noticeable difference between the two and you haven’t created one single shade. Now its time for our favourite part, gloss. We prefer a clear lip gloss, but you can opt for a light pink or even a light brown for this makeup look. Apply a gloss over your lips and watch the look come together.
A red lipstick can compliment any makeup look, especially a sultry one. Grab your favourite deep red lip pencil liner, a deep red lipstick, and another red lipstick a slightly lighter shade than the first, we are going to tell you how to do an ombre red lip. make sure that the lipsticks you grabbed are not matte before we start, a matte lipstick will ruin the whole point of achieving a plump glossy lip.
Line your lips with the deep red lip liner, and then apply the deep red lipstick. Apply the deep red lipstick to the outer corners, and grab the lighter red shade and apply that to the remaining space one your lips. Blend the two with a makeup brush, your finger, or even just by rubbing your lips together.
After the two colors have married into each other nicely you can apply lip gloss, we recommend a clear gloss but you can do a red gloss as well. Red lips are well known for being alluring, a deep red lip look can be the cherry on top for a seductive look.
Natural-looking plump lips
Not everyone loves a bold statement look. Achieving natural looking glossy lips can be a piece of cake.
Princess Peach lips. Princess Peach has undeniably soft, round, plump lips. They are shiny, with a sheer finish. Princess Peach has achieved the perfect glossy lip, although she’s a cartoon she has gorgeous glassy lips. Her lip shape is very circular and pouty, we are going to try and recreate that. Start by applying concealer to your lips with a damp beauty blender. I know this sounds off putting but trust the process.
Now, taking a fluffy eyeshadow brush pick up some light pink eyeshadow pigment and applying it in a circle in the middle of your lips. Do not put any pigment on the corners of your mouth. You want the circle of light pink eyeshadow pigment to extend from your cupids bow to the middle bottom of your bottom lip. Don’t be afraid to blend it slightly further than your natural lip line, a little bit of over lining with the pigment will create the illusion of fuller lips.
Picking up a slightly darker pink eyeshadow create a smaller circle inside the original circle and very lightly blend the colours into each other. By doing this we are giving ourselves the appearance of round plump lips. Now lastly you can take a clear or a sparkly pink lipgloss and apply it only where you applied the light pink eyeshadow. Now you have plump, Kiss-able, Princess Peach lips. We love to wear glossy lips, and these ones are the cutest.
One product plump lips. If you don’t have the time, the products or don’t want to put any effort in this last technique could be for you. Using your favorite lip plumper apply a layer or two onto your lips. A plumping gloss will sting a little as it plumps and slightly enlarges your lips. Wearing lip gloss will not make your lips any larger than they already are, and if you over line with a lip pencil they will only appear to be larger. By using a lip plumper your lips will temporarily enlarge and contain a high shine that lasts all day.
One product juicy red tinted lips. Clinique’s Almost Lipstick in shade black honey has to be talked about for shiny lips. It makes your lips soft and glossy. Apply this on your lips with no other product and thank us later. Before applying any gloss you should exfoliate your lips, for the best end results. DIY lip scrub for extra plumping
In the beauty world anything can be either dooped, or made yourself. A DIY lip exfoliator is on that list. Here are some tips on making your own instead of dropping a bunch of money on one.
Making a lip exfoliator is easier than you think, mix one teaspoon of honey and two teaspoons of sugar. Thats it. Then using your finger very gently massage into your lips. Both your upper lip and lower lip. After your finished you can either rinse your lips off with water or lick them off as sugar and honey are both edible!
Now coat your lips in a lip balm, or a lip mask for better results.

Its been sold out repeatedly everyone loves it so much. This product is amazing for dry lips, its also vegan and cruelty free! Fenty Skin is owned by famous singer Rihanna, and she knows what the people want. Reviews rave about it being extremely glossy, but not sticky. As well as it layers nicely and doesn’t climb when you reapply, and best of all it lasts all day. Run don’t walk to Sephora for this product.
For a little cheaper, Fenty made the list again. The Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Lip Gloss has some amazing reviews. Its a community favourite, its vegan with a high shine finish. People describe this gloss saying it “makes your lips look like glass”. With shea butter it conditions your lips and smells amazing. The scent has been described as “mystery flavor airhead” and we don’t think it can get any better than that. You can get this gloss with shimmer as well, for some added sparkle.
Best lipsticks:
We cannot get enough of the Clinique Almost Lipstick in shade Black Cherry. This lipstick compliments all skin tones, the formula is not sticky at all and leaves lips looking and feeling so smooth.
